"I would just like to say on behalf of all my family we love yous (sic) all and are truly grateful for all you have done.
Mrs Tokona and Eunice were taken to Monrad Intermediate School today so their Palmerston North whanau could pay their respects.
Tomorrow they would travel "home" to Ruatoria at Mangahanea Marae for a service which would be held after 3pm.
"All who have known our nan are more than welcome to come along," Mr Felton posted.
"Also another big thank you to all our friends and family for all there help and support they have given us, I thank the lord for all my family we still have with us."
Detective Inspector Ross McKay of Central District CIB said his thoughts were with the family, who had asked for privacy as they continued to grieve.
"Our deepest sympathies go to Eunice and Bessie's family at this tragic time, and we are continuing to offer them the appropriate support," he said.
Mr McKay said police and fire investigators had now completed the scene examination, which confirmed that the fire started in the kitchen area, but was not believed to be suspicious.
The deaths have been referred to the Coroner.
