2 critically injured after crash near New Plymouth Airport, major road closed

Two people are in a critical condition and two are in a serious condition following a serious two-vehicle crash near New Plymouth Airport.

They were called to the scene on Devon Rd, Sentry Hill, about 5.05pm and initial reports suggest there have been “serious injuries”.

The road is closed, diversions are in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

Hato Hone St John said three ambulances and two rapid response vehicles were called to the scene about 5pm.

“Two patients in a critical condition and two in a serious condition have been transported to Taranaki Hospital.”
