A six-year-old has been taken to hospital after a quad bike accident in Shelly Beach.
A young man has suffered serious injuries after falling sixty feet down a bank while riding a quad bike, while a a six-year-old boy and 42-year-old man are in hospital after a quadbike crash near Auckland this morning.
St John were helped by a rescue helicopter at around half pastone this afternoon, as they rescued the man on Mander Road in the Waimata Valley near Gisborne.
Firemen who attended the scene said the man, in his late teens or early twenties, suffered a number of cuts, and could also have internal injuries.
They say the man was fortunate as his fall was broken by manuka bushes, which saved him from plummeting further.
Earlier today, emergency services were called to another incident on rural land at Shelly Beach, about 50 minutes north of the city centre, about 8.45am.
An Auckland District Health Board spokeswoman said the boy was in a stable condition at Starship Hopsital and the man was being treated in the emergency department at Auckland hospital.
