Two people were plucked out of the sea off Foxton Beach by the coast guard this morning, after their dinghy capsized.
The pair were seen about 2km out to sea by a member of the public who contacted police.
They were located safely, after having spent about half
an hour in the water, about 7.15am.
Both were wearing life jackets, and police said the incident was a reminder about the value of wearing the life-saving devices when boating.
