Two pedestrians dead after being hit by train in Papakura

Two pedestrians have been killed after being hit by a train in Papakura.

Police said the pair died on impact at an incident at the Boundary Rd railway crossing at 11.07pm.

They were struck by a southbound train travelling from Papakura to Pukekohe.

The genders or ages of the victims is yet to be confirmed.

The Police Disaster Victim Identification unit is at the scene to recover the bodies
