Two New Plymouth teens charged with rape

Two 18-year-old have appeared in court today charged with rape in New Plymouth.

The men were arrested after a 17-year-old woman laid a complaint with police in relation to an alleged incident last Friday.

The men face charges of rape of a female over 16 years of age, unlawful sexual connection, and indecent assault.

One is also charged with making an intimate visual recording of the incident.

A third 18-year-old has been charged only with making an intimate visual recording in relation to the incident and has yet to appear in court.

The man charged only with making an intimate visual recording is due appear in court later this week.
