One man was stabbed in the chest and another cut on his face during a midnight attack in a central Auckland park.
Police have cordoned off two crime scenes - one in Aotea Square and the other a short distance away in Myers Park where the incident is believed tohave happened.
The man who was stabbed in the chest was driven to hospital in a critical condition.
The other man left a trail of blood along one side of Aotea Square after he walked from the park to Queen St where an ambulance attended to him.
Both men, believed to be aged in their 20s, were taken to different hospitals. Both were in a stable condition today.
Mr Hunter said police were interviewing friends of the two injured men and were trying to determine other potential witnesses.
