Two killed in separate motorcycle crashes

Two motocyclists have been killed in separate accidents today.

The first died after suffering serious injuries in a crash in west Auckland about 1pm.

Hers was the only vehicle involved in the crash on Candia Road in Henderson.

Diversions were put in place around the crash site while the scene was cleared.

In the other accident one motorcyclist was killed after colliding with another biker.

The pair were in a group of five riding together when the accident happened on Makomako Road, near Kawhia, just after 3pm.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called but the most seriously injured rider died at the scene.

The second biker suffered moderate injuries.

The police serious crash unit has launched investigations into both accidents.
