Two people are injured when the stolen vehicle they were in crashed while trying to avoid road spikes, in the Waikato today, police say.
The vehicle had been involved in a police pursuit, which police had pulled out of before the crash on Great South Road, just south of Taupiri,26km north west of Hamilton, about 6.30am.
The Fire Service had to free one of the occupants, who was trapped in the vehicle.
Two people were taken by ambulance to Waikato Hospital with serious and moderate injuries.
Waikato police said they abandoned the chase because of high speeds.
