Two injured after head-on crash in Opotiki

Two people were injured, one critically, in a serious crash near Opotiki in the eastern Bay of Plenty this evening.

Police said one person was cut from the wreckage of the two-car head-on crash, which occurred on State Highway 35 just west of Opotiki soon after 5pm.

A section of the highway has been closed as the Serious Crash Unit investigates.
