Two hurt, one critically in Waikato crash involving two vehicles

Emergency services are responding to a serious two-vehicle crash.

Police were alerted around 10.05am to the crash, which happened on Stanley Rd South, Te Aroha, in the Matamata-Piako District.

Early indications were that one person had received critical injuries and another serious injuries, police said in a statement.

A helicopter has been dispatched from Tauranga, police said. The road is closed and diversions are in place.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
