Save Two earthquakes have rattled the North Island this evening.
A magnitude 5.2 quake hit at a depth of 24km, 90km north-east of the Gisborne region, just after 7.30pm.
Almost 50 people reported feeling the light shake north-east of Te Araroa, on GeoNet's website.
A second 4.3 magnitude tremor was felt
15km west of Wellington at 7.35pm.
The depth of the earthquake was 40km, according to GeoNet,
