Two die in separate crashes

Two other people died in separate crashes yesterday.

Just before 2pm a motorcyclist died after colliding with another rider in Golden Downs in Nelson.

Summit Rescue Helicopter spokesman Jarrod Colbourne said the victim died at the scene.

The other rider, a 50-year-old Northland man, was flown to Nelson hospital with a suspected neck injury and concussion.

About 3.20am a teenage driver was killed after crashing on Mangawhero Rd at a one-lane bridge near Otorohanga, about 65km south of Hamilton.

The driver was trapped in the car and died soon after he was freed by emergency services.

On Saturday, three children and a grandmother were pulled from a burning car in Redvale, but 4-year-old Adam Pretorius of Milford could not be saved.
