Crash near Maketū Rd leaves one critical, Te Puke Highway reopens

One person was critically injured in a crash that closed the Te Puke Highway near Maketu Rd.

One person was critically injured in a crash that closed the Te Puke Highway this morning.

Emergency services were called to the crash near Maketū Rd around 7.10am.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said one person in a critical condition was airlifted to Waikato Hospital while two people were taken by road to Tauranga Hospital in a moderate condition.

Two ambulances, one rapid response vehicle, one helicopter, and one operations manager went to the scene.

The road has reopened.
