Two Auckland motorway crashes cause long delays for drivers

A two-vehicle crash blocked the centre lane of Auckland's Southern Motorway near Epsom.

Crashes on Auckland’s Northern and Southern Motorways have caused long delays to commuters.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were responding to a crash on the Northern Motorway near Northcote.

“The crash heading north, involving two vehicles, was reported to police at around 2.48pm.

“Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.”

NZTA Waka Kotahi said the crash was blocking the right northbound lane, near the Tristram Ave off-ramp and motorists are advised to expect delays.

“Please pass with care and expect some delays.”

Northbound traffic is backed up from Northcote Point to Wairau Rd.

Meanwhile, a two-vehicle crash in the centre lane of the Southern Motorway near Epsom has now been cleared.

A police spokesperson said the crash heading north was reported to police at around 2.42pm.

The crash had blocked the centre lane of the Southern Motorway heading north, near the Gillies Avenue off-ramp.

NZTA said motorists should allow extra time for delays in the area to ease.

Northbound traffic on the Southern Motorway was backed up from near Gilles Ave to near Ōtāhuhu.
