Two arrested in Armed Offenders raid Sandringham

Two men were arrested after the Armed Offenders Squad searched a Sandringham property this morning.

Police carried out a planned operation on Arabi St, Sandringham, about 5.30am, Auckland City Police spokeswoman Noreen Hegarty said.

The Fire Service was also called as a precaution, in case hazardous chemicals were on site, but none were found.

Two men were arrested on drug-related matters, Ms Hegarty said.

A decontamination unit and five police cars were situated near Jason Ave and Arabi St about 6.20am, Newstalk ZB reported.

Witnesses said the Armed Offenders Squad had blocked off part of Balmoral Rd and Arabi St.

No further information was released.
