The Kuranui College Twilight Family Picnic fundraiser tomorrow will offer students a rare chance to target teachers - and principal Geoff Shepherd - with water balloons.
"I'm not sure what I've got myself into but it's for a great cause. I understand the water balloon stall has been designed tominimise the impact," Mr Shepherd said.
"It's all good fun and we are hoping that the whole community comes along and joins us for what promises to be a good old-fashioned family event."
The picnic, part of a series of events raising funds for the college, will offer pony and vintage car rides, and traditional children's games such as egg and spoon races.
The event is open to members of the public, who are invited to bring along their pets and take part in the Scruffy Dog Show. There will be prizes for the best dressed, best tricks and best lookalike. Dogs must be registered by 6pm.
College bands Korona, Borderline Frequency and Amplified will be part of the musical entertainment, while the Kuranui Ukulele Orchestra will complete the evening with a Christmas carol singalong at 7.30pm.
The picnic runs from 5-7pm and entry is by gold coin donation.
