TVNZ's Mold resigns

TVNZ reporter Francesca Mold resigned yesterday as the network's deputy political editor and is understood to be considering the senior position in the Labour Party media team.

Labour's current chief press secretary, Kris Faafoi, who is a former TVNZ political reporter, has put his hand up for the Labour nomination in Mana for the byelection this year.

He is understood to be a favourite to win selection, which will take place on September 18.

National has also opened nominations.

National list MP Hekia Parata, who stood in Mana last election, is favoured to win selection.
