Activities Facilitator/Key support - Art based activity

We are looking for a multi-talented person with a keen interest in supporting tangata whai ora - people with mental health and addiction issues - toward gaining skills in a range of art based activities and creative pursuits.

These could include visual art, murals, carving, jewellery skills, matauranga toi, or your own passion area.

The position is 18 hours per week.

The ideal person will have a Certificate in Mental Health Support Work or a similar qualification (or willingness to undertake such), or experience in the mental health field, as well as a keen interest in and knowledge of artistic techniques and personal development.
We are seeking someone who:

Understands the concepts of recovery and strengths-based support
Is passionate about art as a medium for therapeutic expression
Has a "can do" attitude and a willingness to contribute to a team approach
Can work respectfully across cultural boundaries
