Truck crashes on Lindis Pass, blocking highway

Save A truck driver was trapped in his vehicle when it crashed on Lindis Pass early this morning, blocking the major Otago highway for several hours.
A police spokesman said the crash occurred on State Highway 8 between Omarama and Tarras about 2.30am.
The truck driver had to be freed from
the wreckage and was taken to Dunedin Hospital.
Emergency services were still clearing the scene at 6.15am.
An ambulance spokesman said the driver's injuries were not thought to be serious.
