Trinity seniors strike theatresports gold

A Rathkeale St Matthew's Senior College team seized gold at the final of the 2015 Wairarapa Theatresports competition.

Trinity Schools spokeswoman Natalie Finnigan said two of three teams from the senior college had performed at the Masterton finals of the event on July 30.

The winning group included pupils Hunter Neilsen, Sam Tulloch, Oliver Lewis, Bryer Oden and Abbey Wakefield, she said.

A second senior college team had also contested the final and comprised pupils James Boyce, Callum Finn Reason, Eden Wallace, John Weidling and Mac Nelson.

Ms Finnigan said the teams had played games in the style of the popular TV comedy improvisation show Whose Line Is It Anyway?

"There were set games in which the teams were provided with ideas from the audience regarding the location, objects and characters involved in a scene, which they then had three minutes to act out on the spot with no preparation," Ms Finnigan said.

"The entire aim of the event was to entertain and there were many moments of great amusement from all of our senior college teams."
