Former All Black and New Zealand Rugby Union chairman Jock Hobbs will be farewelled today.
The funeral service for Hobbs will be held at Wellington's Old St Paul's church at 1pm.
New Zealand's Super Rugby franchises - the Chiefs, Hurricanes and Highlanders playing in New Zealand and the Blues inSouth Africa - and Kiwi match officials have shown their respect for Hobbs by wearing black armbands at games this weekend.
Teammates in the Chiefs vs Brumbies game observed a minute's silence at Baypark Stadium.
The Crusaders have a bye so will pay respect at their first home game against the Cheetahs next Saturday.
The world champion New Zealand Sevens team will wear black armbands in the sixth leg of the IRB World Sevens Series in Hong Kong next weekend.
All Six Nations and SANZAR matches around the world this weekend have had a moment's silence for Hobbs.
NZRU chairman Mike Eagle said the heartfelt gestures recognised how Hobbs was respected in world rugby and tributes had flooded in from all over the globe.
Hobbs, who died of leukaemia last Tuesday, was 52.
His wife, Nicky, and four children - Michael, Penelope, Isabella and Emily - asked for donations to be made to Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand in lieu of flowers.
