Tribal Huk leader Jamie Pink pleads not guilty to weapons charges

The leader of the Tribal Huk gang Jamie Pink will fight weapon possession charges laid against him.

Pink, of Ngaruawahia, was arrested twice last month.

Appearing before a registrar in the Hamilton District Court this morning, Pink's lawyer entered not guilty pleas to two charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and one of possessing an offensive weapon.

Pink, whose full name is Allan James Pink, was stopped by police in Hamilton last month and his car searched.

He was arrested and charged with possession of an axe and studded baseball bat.

The earlier charge relates to being in possession of a weapon alleged to have been found inside a Ford SUV that was riddled with bullet holes.

Pink has elected trial by jury and was remanded on bail to reappear in March.

Pink and his gang have been on a vigilante crusade to rid Ngaruawahia of methamphetamine (P) in recent months.

The Huks also make sandwiches for about 1000 needy school children.
