A 20-year-old man has been airlifted out of the Tararua Ranges, after falling ill while tramping.
Other members of the man's tramping party walked out this morning, and alerted emergency services about the man's condition.
The Philips Search and Rescue Trust helicopter reached him at the Waitewaewae Hut at 2pm
today.
He was taken to Palmerston North in a stable condition.
