Trains grind to a halt in Wellington

All train services in and out of Wellington have been suspended after a fault.

It's not known how long the fault will take to fix.

Due to signal faults at Wellington Station, all services both in and out of Wellington are currently suspended until further notice.

It follows a horror week for public transport in the capital, with the bus network plagued by problems.

New timetables, routes, and buses, have led to serious delays for commuters, following Tranzit taking over most of the region's services.

Yesterday Metlink admitted it had received "a very high volume of feedback via all channels", and heavy delays on certain routes.
