Save A freight train collided with a log chipping machine at Lincoln Rd in Carterton this afternoon disrupting commuter trains.
The train was travelling south when it hit a machine being operated by a contractor at around 1.55pm.
Nobody was injured and the incident is under investigation.
The rail line is
currently closed.
Tranz Metro has replaced the Wairarapa commuter train service by bus between Featherston and Masterton for the 3.40pm MAST-WELL and 4.25pm WELL-MAST.
