Train hits ute in near miss accident

A man had a near miss after a freight train clipped the side of his ute this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Lincoln St in Hampden, North Otago about 9.30am.

"The
driver had approached the crossing and stopped, he checked right and then the train approached from the left and clipped the vehicle," he said.
