Train collides with logging truck in Carterton

A train has collided with a logging truck in Wairarapa this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Norman Ave and Waingawa Rd in Carterton.

Fire Service spokesman Murray Dunbar said they were called to the site about 2.30pm.

There were no reports of injuries or anyone trapped.

Photos of the crash show the logging truck tipped to one side and logs strewn on the road.

Police said all emergency services were called to the accident.

A police spokeswoman said: "Nil injuries, [but] mess on the road, however.''
