Tourists hurt, dazed and confused after bus crashes into ditch

A woman suffered minor injuries when a bus carrying overseas tourists crashed into a ditch on State Highway 27 in the Hauraki Plains today.

Police say the bus was carrying 15 passengers when it crashed north of Patetonga this morning.

One woman has a minor shoulder or rib injury.

People travelling on the Waikato highway have reported dazed and confused passengers standing on the roadside waiting for help.

Inspector Tony Edwards said the bus was off to the side of the road and traffic was able to pass.

"It's left the road and gone into a ditch," said Mr Edwards.
