A spokesman from the centre said they received a call on Friday afternoon from St John Ambulance who had been alerted by police. However, ambulance help was not required.
The Civil Aviation Authority has not been advised of any incident.
The Rotorua Daily Post contacted Volcanic Air Safaris director Phil Barclay but he declined to comment.
