Topless parade decision due

A decision on revoking a permit for the Boobs on Bikes parade featuring topless women on Queen St next Wednesday is not expected before tomorrow, says Auckland City Mayor Dick Hubbard.

He said further discussions were needed but refused to elaborate on what, if anything, the council could do to stop the lunchtime parade of up to 30 porn stars in cars or on the backs of motorcycles.

Council chief executive David Rankin is looking at whether there are grounds to revoke the permit, which was approved by council staff.
