An 18-month-old boy locked in a van in South Auckland has been rescued thanks to the quick help of fire crews.
Crews from Manurewa and Papakura stations were called to Beeston Cres just before 9am.
It took just 10 minutes from the call for help until crews pulled the baby
from the car.
A northern fire communications spokesperson said the embarrassed parents had locked their keys in the van.
The child was unaware of the drama, but his parents were quite worried, the spokesperson said.
