Photo / Google MapsUp to 16 fire appliances are battling a blaze in the roof of the Titirangi War Memorial Hall in west Auckland.Emergency services were called to the hall on South Titirangi Rd about 1pm, a Fire Service spokesman said. Despite significant rain in the area, firefighters were "flat out" trying to extinguish the blaze. Up to 16 Fire Service appliances from nearby stations were in attendance.They were too busy to provide details to the communications centre on the building's status, the spokesman said.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.A fire investigator was on their way to the scene.A police spokeswoman said officers were assisting to evacuate people from the area.
