Three people have been pulled out of the water in Raglan, after their 16-foot aluminium boat overturned on the bar.
Northern Communications Inspector Andy Brill says the trio are a little wet, but safe and well.
Coastguard are also looking for a boat that crossed the bar at Manukau Heads
this morning, but has stopped responding to radio calls.
Police are calling it a precautionary search.
