Three men have pleaded guilty to 24 arson charges following a string of fires in Manawatu last month.

Corey Stopforth, 19, Phillip Morley, 21, and Paul Harrod, 19, appeared in Palmerston North District Court yesterday, the Manawatu Standard reports.

A $100,000 haybale fire was one of a series
in the Ashhurst, Rongotea/Kopane area early on Saturday, October 6, that the men faced charges over.

Stopforth, unemployed, and Morley, an electrician, both of Palmerston North, were also charged with torching a car under the Ashhurst Bridge.

Judge Gregory Ross remanded the men on bail to appear for sentencing on February 22.
