Three more men have been arrested in relation to the death of a Northland man outside a Kaitaia pub at the weekend.
Eighteen-year-old Hamish Lloyd Cameron, from Pamapuria, 10km north of Kaitaia, died after a brawl outside the Kaitaia Hotel about 1.40 am on Saturday.
A 36-year-old unemployed Kaitaia man, who has
interim name suppression, appeared in Kaitaia District Court yesterday charged with the murder of Mr Cameron.
A Kaitaia police spokesman today said two more men and a teenager were arrested in Auckland overnight.
The three men - 39-year-old Auckland man, a 37-year-old Northland man and a 17-year-old Northlander - were to appear in the Papakura District Court today.
Northland police Detective Inspector Viv Rickard would not say what charges the trio faced, except that they related to an attack on Mr Cameron.
Mr Rickard said about 40 police staff were working on the inquiry and key witnesses were still coming forward.
A funeral service for Mr Cameron was to be held today at 4 pm at Pamapuria, followed by his interment at Tarakaka Cemetery, Pamapuria.
