Three luge tracks planned at Silverdale

Three luge tracks are planned for a hillside at Silverdale, near the Snowplanet indoor ski slope and Action Raceway Go-Karting.

Rodney District Council commissioners are hearing a resource consent bid for the luge, which expects to have 200,000 visitors a year - half as many as the Skyline Skyride's Luge in Rotorua.

The three tracks - scenic, medium and fast - will cross over at four points, either by bridge or tunnel.
