Three flown to hospital after van crash

Three men were seriously injured after a van left the road and crashed down a bank south of Gisborne last night.

All three suffered multiple injuries and were airlifted to hospital after the crash on State Highway 2 at Morere, between Gisborne and Wairoa, about 11.15pm.

Two men were flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital in critical and serious conditions, an ambulance central communications spokeswoman said.

The third man was flown to Gisborne Hospital in a serious condition.
