Three people have been arrested following a police chase across Auckland last night.
The pursuit started on Great North Rd in Grey Lynn, about 10.40pm when police spotted the stolen car, Inspector Tony Edwards of the police northern communications centre said.
"We lost it for about one minute, but theEagle [helicopter] managed to track it down to south Auckland," he said.
The occupants attempted to dump the car and flee, but police arrested three people.
