Horowhenua police have arrested three men and are seeking a fourth after a vicious assault in Otaki yesterday.
Police said the victim, asleep in his car near the Otaki railway station sometime after 1am, was attacked by four men, slashed in the face with a broken bottle orsimilar weapon, and robbed.
The man suffered serious injuries.
The foursome damaged several properties after leaving the scene and committed two burglaries.
Police said the three arrested Otaki men face aggravated robbery, wounding with intent and other charges.
