Three arrested after man shot in face

Three men men have been arrested in relation to a shooting in Panmure about 4.30 this morning.

The victim is in Auckland Hospital with a serious, but not life-threatening, wound to the right side of his face.

Two of the men, aged 16 and 27, will appear at the Auckland District Court tomorrow facing a number of firearm charges and wounding with intent, police said.

A 47-year-old man has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and will appear at the Auckland District Court at a later date.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glen Baldwin said police were not seeking anyone else in regard to the shooting.

Police staff had worked diligently to track down and apprehend the three offenders within a short timeframe, he said.
