Social media has been flooded with reactions from residents of the effected areas impacted by the quake as well as others wishing for the safety of New Zealanders.
A Nelson shop owner posted his security footage of bottles of wine smashing as the earthquake rocks the shelves with others posting images of the carnage the quake has left behind.
