LOCAL TALENT
Waikato-raised model Emily Baker, who has walked for everyone from Calvin Klein to Prada and appeared in campaigns for Gucci, has been working closer to home recently, appearing in fashion magazines like Harper's Bazaar. Now she has turned up in the latest campaign for sleepwear brand Peter Alexander, showcasing the new range that goes into stores this week.

HOSPICE HOOLIES
• Get your op shop fashion fix at The Absolutely Fabulous Fashion Show in support of Hospice West Auckland. With a silent auction, MPs as models and clothing for sale, the event will feature MC Jools Topp of the Topp Twins - a West Auckland resident and Hospice Shop fan. 7.30pm next Thursday. - Dame Trelise Cooper has partnered with L'Oreal Professionel to support Breast Cancer Cure, with $2 from sales of salon shampoo packs she has designed going towards the charity of which she is patron. Celebrating New Zealand's own swinging 60s is the New Zealand Fashion Museum's next exhibition,

Elle and the youthquake: The changing face of fashion

. Set to open in late September at Britomart's The Nathan Club, it tells the story of designer Wendy Ganley of Elle boutique and her youthful designs (left).

The museum is calling for garments with the Elle or Adele label, as well as certain pieces by Babs Radon (under which Ganley trained) and early Marilyn Sainty garments (the designer worked in Ganley's workroom), plus photos and memories of Wendy Ganley and Elle. Contact nzfashionmuseum.org.nz.

SHOP POSITIVE
Another great addition to the ethical clothing sector, non-profit Recreate Store partners with women in Cambodia to offer training, fair employment, and community based profits.
