Telecom given 111 directive

Communications and IT Minister Steven Joyce has written to Telecom to outline the Government's expectations over the emergency 111 system after partial collapses early in the year.

Operated by Telecom as part of its Telecommunications Services Obligation with the Crown, the 111 system had failures during the time the company was having problems bedding in its new XT network.
