Teen killed in motorcycle crash named

Police have named a Dannevirke teenager who died after a motorcycle crash in Palmerston North on Friday.

Christopher Ross Butler, 15, was a student at St Peters College in Palmerston North.

The crash happened at the intersection of Walding and Taonui streets about 3.30pm when his motorcycle and a car collided.

Palmerston North police Constable Steve Crawford said the youth died in an ambulance en route to Palmerston North Hospital.

The occupants of the car were not hurt.

Mr Crawford said driving conditions at the time of the accident were good.

Police are looking for witnesses.
