A 15-year-old boy charged with robbery has kept out of secure care despite allegations of escapes from a Christchurch social welfare home.
The boy left the social welfare home in Broomfield on Monday night, but turned up with his grandmother for a Youth Court appearance yesterday.
Earlier, when there was
confusion about where he was meant to be staying, he had arrived by himself for a scheduled family group conference.
The boy faces a charge of robbing a bus driver who was bashed in Hoon Hay about 10pm on July 31, and $170 taken. He denies that offence.
Judge Brian Callaghan remanded him to September 19 and warned him to stay at the social welfare home.
