Teen hunter shot in foot

A 17-year-old girl was last night recovering in Waikato Hospital after being shot in the foot on a hunting trip.

Acting Inspector Danny Meade of the police northern communications centre said emergency services received a call from a Te Kuiti address at 7.20pm telling them of the accident.

It was not clear whether the girl shot herself or if someone else shot her.
