A teenager has been flown for specialist treatment after being injured in a crash in the Bay of Plenty yesterday.
The 17-year-old was among six people who were injured in the crash on Otakiri Rd near Edgecumbe in the Whakatane district, when the four-wheel-drive they were travelling in rolled around12.35pm.

Three of the injured were children who had been thrown from the vehicle, while three adults were trapped inside.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called at 6.30pm to fly the 17-year-old to Waikato Hospital to undergo further urgent treatment. He suffered a serious head injury in the crash, the rescue chopper said, reporting him to be in a stable condition.
Waikato Hospital said three of the injured were flown to its facility yesterday - two children and a teenager.
One of the children had since been transferred to Starship Children's Hospital, while the other child was in a stable condition in a ward at Waikato Hospital.
The 17-year-old was flown to Waikato later yesterday the evening, and was today in a serious condition in the high dependency unit, the hospital said.
