A 16-year-old boy found unconscious with a broken neck in a paddling pool will probably have his life support turned off in the next couple of days.
A spokeswoman for Manukau police said the boy had been with mates before he was found in the pool by his mother in
Otara last night.
"It looks like he dove in and it was too shallow and he's broken his neck.''
She said ambulance officers revived him at the scene and he is now in Middlemore Hospital.
