"Love Hendo" is the theme of two murals being unveiled today on the walls of the Waitakere Community Resource Centre in Henderson.
One was painted by professional artists based on ideas from the public at a "Love Hendo" street event in March. The other, featuring a river in a bush
scene, was painted by young artists Cody Redshaw, 17, and Nate Cole, 16.
They and other members of the Kokano Youth Arts Collective, based at the Corban Estate arts centre, will paint five more murals across Henderson in a project sponsored by Unitec and the Henderson-Massey Local Board.
Cody, who left school at 16, hopes the project will lead to studying art at Unitec next year.
Nate, who also left school at the start of last year, hopes to study design.
